Anum Farooq

“My art focusses on exploring, dreaming and discovering the world around us, educating ourselves with inner insights enlightened with natural perspectives, to enable a holistic art experience. The insight between nature, faith and humanity is a life-long discovery. Our perceptions of the natural world and our role within it, are interesting concepts to explore.”

An interwoven voice in art, poetry, sustainability and education, whose work exists at the intersection of seemingly opposing forces;  science and spirituality, nature and abstraction, tradition and innovation. An Associate of the Royal College of Science and an autodidactic creative force, Anum navigates between worlds to explore the unseen, the overlooked, and the deeply human.

Born of a scientific foundation and shaped by a deep artistic intuition, Anum’s visual and written work reflects an ongoing conversation between her neurodivergent perspective, cultural heritage, and a global outlook. Her art has resonated across continents, challenging boundaries and inspiring dialogue.

“Between Worlds” is not just a theme, it’s a truth she lives. Through pigment, poetry, and pixels, she invites us to pause, observe, and rediscover the quiet power of beauty, balance, and belonging.

Artist Statement

Art is a form of quiet listening, to the world, to the unseen, and to the self. My practice exists at the intersection of pigment, poetry, and perception. Informed by a background in science and shaped by an intuitive, neurodivergent mind, I explore the deep relationships between nature, faith, and the human experience. I’m particularly drawn to the quiet power of spiritual ecology; the understanding that we are not separate from the earth, but intimately woven into its rhythms, cycles, and sacredness.

I see creativity as a form of devotion. My work is an ongoing meditation on interconnectedness,  between the scientific and the spiritual, the abstract and the organic, the traditional and the experimental. Through painting, digital media, photography, and writing, I seek to make visible what is often felt but not always seen.

Being neurodivergent allows me to experience and express the world through different channels,  patterns, textures, and fragments that form a language beyond linearity. I create in layers, letting intuition guide the process, and often return to themes of transformation, belonging, and the unseen architecture of reality.

As an autodidactic global artist, I value openness, dialogue, and the creative freedom to move between disciplines. Whether working with pigment or pixels, I aim to create spaces that invite reflection,  spaces where beauty becomes a kind of truth, and art becomes a portal of understanding.
